Las Orquideas the accommodation for Dalvaro Art painting holidays

The accommodation "Las Orquideas" in Pictures

Las Orquideas, the hillside villa which overlooks the town of Benigànim and the Valle D'Albaida in Valencia, Spain. The home of Loli and Harold and the venue for Dalvaro art painting holidays, art courses and painting workshop vacations.

Situated approximately mid way between the popular airports of Valencia to the east and Alicante to the west, the villa has been well restored to the highest standard.  Over the years we have fine-tuned the art of improving participants experience in painting within the comfort of a “home from home” style of accommodation and service. The accommodation now consists of the main villa with two twin and two double en-suite bedrooms on the first floor. A newly built annex with ground floor rooms, one double and two twin en-suite bedrooms, a further twin and double en-suite bedroom, each with its own separate air conditioning units. Private rooms, all en suite have been designed for everyone's  ultimate comfort and relaxation. A restful night’s sleep will always inspire and refresh you, prepped, primed and ready for a wonderful day’s painting.

The fully equipped air conditioned studio, which is located to the rear of property, has been purpose built to accommodate a full group of students, 12 participants can easily find enough space to work whether at a stand up easel or table top, while watching demos or practising their art.

The accommodation is contained in three separate buildings, all in the grounds of "Las Orquideas".

The main building, the villa itself, has a large glass enclosed conservatory, which has a sitting area, a dining area with sliding glass walls and sun blinds, and a breakfast bar/kitchenette.

Inside the villa on the ground-floor is the main kitchen, dining area and lounge, all open plan. A shower room, a bodega and the office/library. On the first floor there are two twin bedrooms and two double bedrooms, all are private en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities, and also have hair-driers.

The second building, next to the swimming pool, has two twin and one double bedded rooms. Again all the rooms are private en-suite with air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, and also have hair-driers. The two twin rooms overlook the swimming pool and the valley across to the mountain range beyond.

The third building houses the large, air conditioned studio, one twin and one double room. All the rooms are private, with their own exterior entrance, en-suite with air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, and also have hair-driers.

The landscaped gardens, which were professionally designed with the artist in mind, cover an area of just over one acre, and overlook the town of Benigànim and the Valle D'Albaida to the mountain of Benicadell and the Sierra de Mariolla. Within the gardens there is a swimming pool, tennis court and a petanque terrain (boules). Next to the studio is a gazebo, shaded by Grape vines and Kiwis, surrounded by a rill which supplies water to the small cascade and miniature water-lily pool.

In front of the villa are the curved island beds containing many shrubs, including Daturas, Bottlebrush, Buddleias and of course palms. The beds from the driveway, around the tennis court and up to the petanque area contain roses and an annual summer planting of geraniums, carnations and begonias. Set amongst all this are numerous shaded areas to sit, relax, read, paint or have a drink or two. An ideal location for those quieter moments, which we all need at some time, or the larger communal areas for the painting groups to gather.
